When we moved into the Park Slope Brownstone for the first time we were living in a building with ventilation shafts in the center of the building. Three windows in our apartment look out to into a ventilation shaft, which means the windows views are of the neighbors brick wall about a meter away. We appreciated the windows for the light they let in, but they hardly supplied a view worth looking at. At first I was not sure how to deal with these windows in an interior design sense, until I discovered these curtain panels from ikea. They fit the width of the windows perfectly, let in light, but are opaque enough that they camouflaged the brick walls. We did not have a need to open these windows so I used tacs (drawing pins) to attach them to the windows. I was very pleased how they look, clean and crisp.
